As a principal investigator, I have been awarded with three research grants:

• From the European Union, “Horizon 2020”, within the “ICT 2014 – INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGIES” program: “LIGHT2015”, an ambitious outreach and education project (planned to start January 2015) to promote the importance of photonics to young people, entrepreneurs and the general public during the United Nations International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies. 
• From the “Human Frontiers Science Program“, a three-year grant (September 2009-September 2012) entitled “Understanding supramolecular architectures in photosynthesis by space and time resolved spectroscopy” in collaboration with Prof. Richard Cogdell (Glasgow University – UK), Prof. Tom Moore (Arizona State University – USA) and Prof. Hideki Hashimoto (Osaka City University – JAPAN) 
• From the Politecnico di Milano, a two-year grant (June 2009-June 2011) on spectroscopy of carotenoids and light-harvesting complexes from purple bacteria. For more info, see: http://www.sostieni.polimi.it/
